MORE LOSSES INFLICTED ON ENEMY TWO SUPPLY SHIPS BADLY DAMAGED. ITALIAN MINE-SWEEPER SUNK, LONDON, January 13. British submarines have inflicted more losses on Axis shipping in the Mediterranean. An Admiralty communique reports that an Italian minesweeper was sunk by one of our submarines. An Italian supply ship of 5,200 tons was torpedoed and seriously damaged. This ship was last seen under tow, and the enemy may have succeeded in get-
ting her into harbour. Another supply ship was engaged by a British submarine by gunfire. She was on fire and down by the stern when the action was broken off on account of interference by enemy shore batteries.
