LARGE STEAMER
SUNK OFF NOVIA SCOTIA NINETY-FOUR LIVES LOST. FIRST ATTACK REPORTED SO FAR WEST. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright! (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) NEW YORK, January 13. The Canadian Press reports that a large steamship was torpedoed and sunk 160 miles off Nova Scotia within the past 36 hours, 94 lives being lost, while 89 persons were saved. The sinking was nearer the North American coast than any hitherto reported.
