MORE DISMISSALS
OF GERMAN GENERALS ACCORDING TO PERSISTENT REPORTS. ALL NAZI ARMIES AFFECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, January 9. The Berlin correspondent of the Stockholm newspaper “Dagens Nyheter” says that, according to persistent reports here, many other German generals have been retired following upon the dismissal of Marshal von Brauchitsch. The dismissals affect all the German armies, from Lake Onega to the Sea of Azov. The generals commanding in Finland and the north are von Falkenhirst, Deitl and Engelbrecht. SUFFERINGS OF TROOPS MADE KNOWN ON GERMAN HOME FRONT. (Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, January 9. Frankness continues to characterise Berlin reports on the hardships of the troops on/' the Eastern front, says a Stockholm message. An official German statement declares that the German home front must be fully informed of the soldiers’ sufferings, which are being described at length in articles and films.
