SOVIET TRIUMPHS
VICTORIOUS ADVANCE ON ENTIRE FRONT Determination to Smash Invaders DECLARED BY THE MOSCOW RADIO VIOLENT AND SUCCESSFUL ATTACK BY SEBASTOPOL GARRISON (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) LONDON, January 9. Both the Moscow and Kuibyshev radios announce triumphs for the Russian Army. The Kuibyshev radio declared: “The Red Army advances victoriously on the entire front. The German Army is in full flight, leaving masses of equipment. The Moscow radio stated: “Our enemy continues to retreat on many sectors of the front, losing great numbers killed or wounded and abandoning tanks, lorries and guns. The initiative has been tofu from the enemy’s hands. The German machine is broken. The Soviet Army will do its duty—smash the-invaders completely.’’ Russian troops in the Crimea, with men from the Black Sea Fleet, have opened a big offensive, recapturing many places. The offensive continues. Sebastopol’s garrison has launched a violent attack, regained five miles of territory and inflicted severe casualties. The “Pravda’’ reports that the Soviet advance on the Karelian front is continuing along roads littered with abandoned equipment.
