President Roosevelt has nominated Mr Steinhardt, at present Ambassador to Moscow to be Ambassador to Turkey. It is expected that Major-General James Burns will be appointed to Moscow. Major-General Brett has been promoted to Lieutenant-General in order to give him rank immediately under General Wavell.
