OPERATIONS IN jJEDABAYA AREA. AIR & ARTILLERY ACTIVITY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.8 a.m.) RUGBY, January 2. A British General Headquarters Cairo communique states: “Owing largely to weather conditions, our own and enemy activity in the Jedabaya area yesterday was on a reduced scale. Nevertheless our artillery took full advantage of several good targets offered by concentrations of enemy troops, while our air forces carried out. further attacks against transport, and tanks at and south of Jedabaya were also heavily attacked.” enemy position at Bardia were continued with good results. “On Wednesday night the landing grounds at Arae Philaenorum and jetty at Ras El Aali were effectively bombed. “It is now known that in attacks on Wednesday on enemy armoured forces in the Jedabaya region, our aircraft scored two direct hits on enemy tanks. “From these and other operations two of our aircraft are missing.”
