GINGER TART

SOMETHING FOR DINNER. Line a tart plate with a good shortcrust. Cream ; 1- cup margarine with | cup brown sugar, add 1 egg gradually and beat well. Sift 11- level cups plain flour with -1 level teaspoon ground cinnamon. -J level teaspoon ground cloves, 1 level tablespoon each ground ginger and bicarbonate of soda and a, pinch salt. Dissolve | cup molasses in 1 cup boiling water and add it alternately to butter mixture with the dry ingredients. Place in prepared tart case and bake in a moderate oven for about 35 minutes. Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve.
