COOKING THE HAM

TWO RELIABLE METHODS

Here are two reliable methods of cooking a ham: —

Soak the ham overnight in cold water. Make a fairly thick paste with flour and water and cover entire ham with the paste. Bake in a medium oven for four hours and let cool in oven. Peel off the paste and cover with bread crumbs.

Soak the ham for several hours in cold water. Place in a saucepan with plenty of tepid water, let it come slowly to the boil, remove the scum and simmer gently till cooked. Time allowed according to size—2o minutes to the pound and 20 minutes over. Remove skin from ham and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
