DAY OF PRAYER
BAPTIST PARTICIPATION. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Mr H. T. Falla, president of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, urges Baptist congregations to participate in prayer, corporate and private, on January 1. He believes that the leaders of the nations specify that day as a symbol of New Year resolutions for sustained and earnest effort throughout the whole year. OBSERVANCE BY METHODISTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, December 29. The president of the Methodist Conference states that Methodists will observe a day of prayer in private devotions on New Year’s Day, and particularly at watch-night services on New Year’s Eve.
