MR EDEN’S RETURN
FROM MISSION TO MOSCOW VISIT TO BATTLEFRONTS. SOVIET TRADE UNIONISTS GOING TO BRITAIN (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. December 29. Mr Eden is expected back in London in a few hours from his important talks with M. Stalin and M. Molotov in Moscow. Russian trade union officials are also coming to Britain as a return visit to that paid to Russia by British Trade Union delegates under the leadership of Sir Walter Citrine. A Washington message speaks of the great satisfaction felt there at Mr Eden’s talks in Russia, which are also regarded as being as successful as those held in Washington. A Moscow message stresses the frankness and cordiality which marked Mr Eden’s visit. The Foreign Secretary saw M. Stalin and M. Molotov on five occasions. Some of the talks were as long as those between M. Stalin, Lord Beaverbrook and Mr Harriman. Another message says the talks were, of the greatest importance between allies who have already given practical proof of their determination 1c aid each other. Mr Eden visited the Russian front between Klin and Kalinin and saw eloquent . evidence of the enemy’s flight, including roads that are a graveyard of German equipment. He also spoke to several prisoners and noted their youth and poor clothes.
