FEATHERSTON
RED CROSS SOCIETY MEETING OF COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a meeting of the executive of the Featherston sub-centre of the Red Cross Society, Mrs G. §. Sharp (president) presided. Mrs W. J. Feast was elected relieving secretary during Mrs Willett’s absence. Mrs Lawson was elected treasurer. This appointment is to be confirmed at the next general meeting. The following committees were appointed:—Prisoner of war and parcel committee, Mesdames Lawson (2), Donald, Sharp and Bergh; sewing committee, Mesdames Bloxam, McKenzie, Carlyon and R. P. Hardy. Personal Items. - Mrs and Miss Doreen Gundry and Mr W. G. Davis, of Wellington, are the guests of Mr and Mrs W. Feast, Western Lake Road. Miss Judy Sharp, Wellington, is home for the holidays. Mrs W. G. Hodder, whose health has been causing her friends some anxiety, is reported to be progressing satisfactorily towards recovery. New Books in Library. Twenty-seven new fiction books have been added to the library, and 19 books to the juvenile section. Miss Joan McKenzie has donated 13 books to the juvenile section. COSY THEATRE TONIGHT’S PROGRAMME. One of the most colourful productions to come to the screen, “New Moon,” starring Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald, the brilliant singing combination of today, will be shown tonight. (Approved for Universal Exhibition).
