The New Zealand High Commissioner, Mr Jordan, handed Madame Maisky, wife of the Soviet Ambassador, a cheque for £3OOO as a donation to the Russian Red Cross from the New Zealand Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the Red Cross Society.
