WAVE OF SABOTAGE
SWEEPING OVER OCCUPIED COUNTRIES
CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE REPORTED.
NAZIS THREATEN REPRISALS.
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, Noon.) LONDON, December 23.
A fresh wave of sabotage in German occupied countries is reported. Some buildings in Brussels recently were damaged by dynamite. Three power plants in Belgium also were damaged on the same night by a series of explosions. The Nazi commander announced that if the culprits were not found before Christmas Day a number of Belgians already imprisoned for sabotage will be shot.
The Copenhagen radio reported that a Copenhagen chemical store blew up after an outbreak of fire. The damage is estimated at one and a half million kroner. The police blame saboteurs. A Stockholm report states that the Germans fined Stavanger two million kroner and confiscated all radios because of continuous telephone sabotage. The Germans have reinforced the garrison at Stavanger and proclaimed a state of emergency.
