FEATHERSTON
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE CHILDREN’S PARTY. ("Times-Age" Special.) The Kahutara Women’s Institute entertained 115 children at a party, when each received a gift. Father Christmas was piped in by Piper Stalker. The music for the folk dances was supplied by Mrs Sadler and the music for the adult dancing by Mr Matinga, Mr Elbe being M.C. Supper was provided by the ladies of the district.
Personal. Mrs Renton, Hayward Street, is visiting Lyall Bay. Home Guard. Successful night operations were undertaken by the local company of the Home Guard. Good transport facilities enabled troops to be quickly carried to their positions. Supper rations were provided by the W.W.S.A. COSY THEATRE TOMORROW’S PROGRAMME. “Strange Faces” is a spine-tingling comedy with Frank Jenks and Andy Devine in the chief roles. "Scotland Yard,” featuring John Loder and Nancy Kelly and a special short “From the Four Corners,” will also be screened. (Recommended by the Censor for adults).
