GREYTOWN
WOLF CUB PACK FINAL PARADE OF YEAR. ("Times-Age” Special.) The Grey town Wolf Cub Pack held its final parade for the year on Monday at the Memorial Park when sixteen Cubs were present with the Cubmaster, Miss E. Gregor, and the Group Scoutmaster, Mr L. R. Huntley. Games were played, after which tea was enjoyed. As it was also the eleventh birthday of the Pack, a birthday cake was presented by Mrs A. Gregor. Cub J. McKenzie lit the eleven candles on the cake and Cub A. Williams blew them out, after which Mr Huntley cut the cake. Cub K. Alexander was presented with a book for not having missed a Pack parade during the year. Special books on Scout Week were given to each boy. Red Cross Society. Members of the Red Cross Society were busy last evening under the direction of Mrs F. C. Bunny, when emergency dressings were made for the E.P.S. Scheme. ’ Home Guard. Headquarters Coy. and A Coy. of the South Wairarapa Battalion will carry out musketry manoeuvres at Papawai on Sunday. All members will proceed to Papawai by the shortest route. A bus will leave Greytown at 9.30 a.m. All first class rifles are to be brought in firing condition. TOWN HALL TONIGHT’S PROGRAMME. “Strange Faces,” a spine-tingling comedy, with Frank Jenks and Andy Devine in the chief roles; “Scotland Yard,” featuring John Loder and Nancy Kelly, and a special short “From the Four Corners,” will be screened tonight. (Recommended by the Censor for adults).
