CRUISER DUNEDIN

SUNK IN ATLANTIC BY U=BOAT SERVICE IN-NEW ZEALAND. NAPIER EARTHQUAKE RECALLED. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 1.20 p.m.) RUGBY, December 17. The Admiralty announces that H.M.S. Dunedin has been torpedoed and sunk in the Atlantic by a U-boat. The Dunedin was a light cruiser completed in 1919. She served on the New Zealand station from 1925 to 1937 and played a distinguished part in. rescue work after the Napier earthquake in February, 1931.
