WAIPUKURAU CLUB MEETING POSTPONED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WAIPUKURAU, December 16. The Waipukurau Jockey Club, at a special meeting today, decided to post* pone its Boxing Day meeting because of the present national emergency and the Government’s request for the curtailment of the use of petrol. application for meeting. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. It is understood that the Otaki Maori Racing Club is making application to hold a race meeting on Boxing Day. TROTS ABANDONED. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, December 16. Because of the military occupation pf the racecourse, the Ashburton Trotting Club has to abandon its Boxing Day meeting. The club communicated with the Minister, of Internal Affairs seeking permission to hold the meeting elsewhere, preferably at Addington, but permission was not granted.
