SUICIDE WEAPON
TWO-MAN JAPANESE SUBMARINE CAPTURED BY AMERICANS AT PEARL HARBOUR. LAUNCHED FROM SHIP 100 MILES AWAY. LONDON, December 16. The American Navy Department states that a two-man Japanese submarine captured at Pearl Harbour was launched from a ship 100 miles away. It was a suicide weapon and had a 200-mile cruising range. The craft had a five-foot beam, a length of 41 feet and a 4J-foot conning tower. It could be launched over the side from a larger vessel.
