MADE BY RUSSIANS

ON CENTRAL & SOUTHERN

SECTORS.

SUCCESSFUL GUERILLA OPERATIONS.

(British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) RUGBY, December 14

ITALIAN GENERAL KILLED ON EASTERN FRONT. (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) ROME. .December 14. General Ugo Decarolis has been killed on the Eastern front. IMMENSE BOOTY TAKEN BY SOVIET TROOPS. SIGNIFICANCE EMPHASISED. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, Noon.) RUGBY, December 14. The booty taken from the Germans during the recapture of Albs, says the Soviet Information Bureau in Moscow, included 226 guns, 319 machine-guns, 165 automatic weapons, 1,240 rifles, 907 lorries, 1,055 carts, 1,260 horses, 30,000 grenades, 30,000 mines and 500,000 rifle cartridges. The capture of so many infantry weapons is regarded in military circles in London as proof of successful fighting by the Russians and as evidence that the German withdrawal, at least in this sector, is not entirely voluntary.
