KING’S BIRTHDAY

MESSAGES FROM ALL PARTS OF EMPIRE.

(British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day,. 9.57 a.m.) RUGBY, December 14.

Messages of congratulation from all parts of the Empire and from the United States reached the King on the occasion of his 46th birthday today.

Among them was a personal message from President Roosevelt and one from the Prime Minister (Mr Churchill) on behalf of the Cabinet.

The King is spending the day in the country with the Queen and Princesses. Their Majesties have made a Christmas gift of 1,700 volumes to prisoners of war camps in Germany and Italy.
