Progress of the National Savings campaign in Masterton is indicated from day to day by the barometer set out below:— Quota. Investments. SATURDAY £7BO £4464. FRIDAY £650 , r THURSDAY £520 WEDNESDAY £390 TUESDAY £260 MONDAY £l3O Reading taken 10 a.m. daily. Saturday’s receipts were £2350. Forty-one new accounts were opened during the week.

TOTAL REACHES £4464,

“The return for last week is easily .the .best yet and is proof of the growing sense of responsibility in the community,” said Mr T. Jordan, Mayor, and chairman of the Masterton National Savings Committee, referring to the past week’s total investment receipts of £4464.

“My appeal is to sustain the effort,” Mr Jordan continued. “The call for petrol is no longer loud and insistent and here is an opportunity of saving for future use and present help of the services. I am confident that this district will once more show that it is at least equal to the best in the performance of its public obligations.”
