WRESTLING
BOUT IN WELLINGTON. WIN FOR BLOMFIELD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. In the final wrestling bout of the season in Wellington last night, Lofty Blomfield beat the Australian champion, Fred Atkins, by two falls to one. The packed house was clearly partisan, Atkins coming in for plenty of booing, to which he responded with ironic bows. A penalty fall was awarded to Blomfield in the second ‘ round when, in the midst of a reckless exchange of jolts, Atkins felled his opponent with a heavy low blow. The tally was evened in the sixth round, Atkins dumping Blomfield heavily for a fall. The seventh round had scarcely begun when Atkins was caught in Blomfield’s octopus clamp and quickly submitted.
