SOLWAY COLLEGE

DRILL AND DANCING. AN EXCELLENT DISPLAY. The first of the end-of-the-year functions of Solway College was held last evening when an excellent display of drill and dancing was presented to a large audience of parents and friends from all parts of New Zealand. The first part of the evening was devoted to operatic and tap dancing and) Scottish dancing occupanied on the I bagpipes by Mr Murdo McKenzie. Next the audience was entertained by a mannequin parade of frocks, pyjamas and beach attire in a variety of colours and all beautifully made by the girls themselves. The evening closed with figure marching, drill, gymnastics and folk dancing. Until tonight, the year’s work in art, needlework and dressmaking will be on display in the studio where work of an excellent standard may be seen.
