WEDDING
HARMAN-THORNTON. On Saturday evening at the Kurapuni Methodist Church, Phyllis Ann, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. H. Thornton, Michael Street, Masterton, was married to Private Basil Selwyn, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. Harman, Wright Street, Masterton. The officiating minister was the Rev. H. S. Kings. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was attired in a navy ensemble with accessories to tone. Her bouquetcomprised white lilies, white and pink roses and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sister, Miss Jessica Thornton, who was dressed in a powder blue ensemble with accessories to match. Her bouquet was composed of sweet peas, pale blue delphiniums and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Private lan Flaws. During the signing of the register Mrs Speights sang “I’ll Walk Beside You.” Miss Burton officiated at the organ. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a satin horseshoe by Pam Attree, niece of the bride. About 60 guests were later entertained at the home of the bride followed by a dance.
