FOR BRITISH AEROPLANES & TANKS MESSAGE READ BY LORD BEAVERBROOK. ANOTHER TANKS FOR RUSSIA WEEK. LONDON, November 30. Addressing war workers in Glasgow, Lord Beaverbrook read a message from M. Stalin, expressing gratitude for British planes and tanks. The message runs: “Let me express my gratitude for your aeroplanes and tanks. Some of them are already in action in the front line. Our commanders report favourably on your tanks and the Hurricanes are greatly appreciated. We want as many more tanks and planes as you can send.” Lord Beaverbrook said that everything promised to Russia for the last two months had been sent. He called for the production of 30.000 tanks a year and said there would be another “Tanks for Russia” week. “It Hitler attempts an invasion,” Lord Beaverbrook declared, “we will meet him tank for tank.”
