DESTRUCTIVE BLAZE

FIRE AT PALMERSTON NORTH. DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT £20,000. (Bv Tc-legraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, This Day. Fire ravaged the main storeroom of the premises of Messrs Collinson, and Son, Ltd., in Broadway,, early this morning, and caused damage estimated at £20,000. The blaze, which apparently originated in the store, was first noticed shortly after midnight, and although the fine work of the Fire Brigade kept it within a comparatively small space, the cramped conditions under which the men had to work in the packed storeroom made things extremely difficult and it was over an hour before the blaze was extinguished.
