BOXING MUDDLE

The muddle that has characterised the championship middleweight division for a decade will be cleared up tonight, when Georgie Abrams opposes Tony Zale in a fifteen rounds contest at the Madison Square Garden. Zale is recognised as champion by the National Boxing Association, while Abrams is the New York State Athletic Commission’s nominee as leading challenger. Both the New York Commission and the Boxing Association will recognise tonight’s winner as chamyion in the middleweight division.
