Meeting With Mr Churchill.

Mr Winston Churchill’s 67th birthday. occurs tomorrow. At least one Mastertonian, Captain J. V. Dolan, D. 5.0., a British Intelligence Officer at the time, came across this celebrated statesman just after his escape from prison in Pretoria, when Mr Churchill was doing duty for the London “Morning Post.” The meeting took place on a kopje overlooking a heated skirmish between British and Boer forces. -Captain- Dolan saw Mr Churchill approaching, though he did not know his identity at the time. Creeping up behind him, while he was looking through field glasses, Captain Dolan seized one of his legs.
