CHRISTMAS CABLES

TO MEMBERS OF ARMED FORCES. HANDING IN BY DECEMBER 5 ADVISED. Sir Edward Wilshaw, K.C.M.G., chairman of Cable and Wireless, Ltd., anticipating a heavy volume of messages during the coming Christmas and New Year season, especially to members of his Majesty’s forces, and taking into account the national needs as regards telegraphic communication, states that it would help .considerably if telegrams of greetings were handed in early and, if possible, not later than December 5. It is necessary to fix this relatively early filing date so as to ensure so far as possible that all telegrams are delivered by Christmas or the New Year, as the case may be, whether to persons in Empire countries oversea, or to members of his Majesty’s forces no matter where they may be stationed.
