FIRE RISK

REMOVAL OF GRASS IN TOWN. EARLY ACTION SUGGESTED. The co-operation of Masterton residents is sought by the Superintendent of the Masterton Fire Brigade, Mr T. B. Clark, in taking early steps to remove fire hazards in the borough, before the dry, hot weather sets in. Mr Clark states that it is advisable to have grass cut early before it becomes tough and dry, as often if it is left, difficulty 'is experienced in getting labour to do the work. Moreover, it is a much easier task when the grass is green. Any accumulations of other inflammable material should also be dealt with in good time. ■ Mr Clark said he would much appreciate the assistance and co-opera-tion of borough residents in this matter.
