PAHIATUA STOCK SALE
SHEEP IN KEEN DEMAND. Small entries of sheep, dairy cattle and pigs were offered to a medium attendance of the public at the weekly sale at Pahiatua. Ewes and lambs were in keen demand and realisations in this section exceeded vendors’ expectations. Wethers and fat sheep sold well at.late rates. Dairy cows in profit sold at late rates while the demand for pigs was not keen. Quotations: Ewes and lambs, all counted, 17s Bd, 17s 2d; wethers, 17s 6d, 17s Id; 2-th wethers (small), 15s lOd; fat wethers,- 21s; fat b.f., 20s. Dairy cows in profit, £9 18s, £9 ss, £8 15s to £7 10s; others, £6 to £3 10s; yearling Jersey heifers, £4 13s; 2-yr. empty heifers, £4 10s; Jersey bulls, £5 Is to £5. Pigs: Weaners (good), 20s to 15s; stores, 245; porkers, 365.
