FIGHTERS & BOMBERS

ATTACKS ON ENEMY SHIPS & BASES RAIDER BROUGHT DOWN IN BRITAIN. ENEMY WIRELESS STATIONS OFF THE AIR. LONDON, November 26. A big force of fighters swept out across the Channel this afternoon. A number of bombers were also seen heading for Northern France. German barges in the Straits of Dover were attacked by British fighters on patrol. These barges, as well as a number of enemy patrol vessels, were damaged when the planes swept down with all their guns in action. Antiaircraft ships were also 'attacked off the French coast.

Last night British bombers attacked the docks at Brest and Cherbourg. The force sent out was small but powerful. * The force which bombed Brest and Cherbourg suffered no losses. A Coastal Command aircraft is missing from operations last night.

Of the few raiders who came over Britain last night, one was destroyed. Bombs were dropped in south-west England. There were some casualties, including a small number of people killed.

The Berlin wireless station and a number of others in Western Germany were all off the air today. This is usually an indication that British or Russian bombers are about.
