MAHUNOA CLUB annual meeting. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The twelfth annual meeting of the Mahunga Golf Club was held in e A. and P. Association’s rooms last evening when thdre was an attendance of 53 members. Mr A. O. Jones was appointed to tne chair and apologies for absence were received from Mr G. H. Perry (president) and Mr F. C. Brockett (vicepresident). . , The annual report and balance sheet was adopted. In speaking to the report the chairman stated that the season had been a very happy one. He extended congratulations to the management committee and particularly to the grounds committee for the care of the fairways and greens. He also extended congratulations to the winners of the various competitions held throughout the season. It was pleasing to note that the club had Avon and held the Dominion Insurance Company’s Challenge Cup throughout the season. Prospects for the club were very bright for the ensuing season in spite of the reduction in members owing to overseas and Territorial service. If membership could be improved another successful season should result. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Patron, Mr T. Jordan; president, Mr G. H. Perry; vice-presidents, Messrs J. W. T. Jones and G. T. V r agg; captain, Mr I. L McGregor,* ladies’ captain, Mrs D. Caldwell; committee. Messrs S. Jenkins, C. Sutherland, D. A. Hunn, F. Traynor, A. Ward, George Young, and Miss E. Wyber; hon. secretary-treasurer, Mr J. G. McFarlane; hon. auditor, Mr D. B. Curry. . Thanks were extended to retiring members for their excellent work on i behalf of the club' during the season.
LADIES’ MEETING. OFFICERS APPOINTED. Prior to the annual meeting of the club the ladies held their meeting. Miss M. Diggins presided over a good attendance. On behalf of those present Miss Diggins thanked Miss Wyber for the efficient manner in which she had carried cut her secretarial duties since the club’s inception. A vote of thanks to Miss Wyber was carried by acclamation. Officers were elected as follows:— Club captain, Mrs David Caldwell; secretary, Miss Unice Wyber; committee. Mesdames D. Hunn, F. Madsen and Miss M. Johnson.
It was decided to continue the club’s social activities during the ensuing year.
