FATAL ACCIDENT
FALL FROM OIL TANK. ONE MAN KILLED AND ANOTHER INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ November 13. One man died before his admission to hospital and another was injured in an accident this morning at the depot of the Atlantic Union Oil Company, Limited, Boundary Road, near Kelvin Grove. Both men were engaged in painting a large oil tank, when they fell about 25 feet. The men involved are understood to be: — KILLED. A. Stewart, an elderly man, Wellington. INJURED. Percival Crawford, aged 38, Wellington, abrasions to chest. His condition is satisfactory. When the accident occurred the two men were on a scaffolding suspended from the lip of the oil tank, which is not unlike a gasometer. They were taken to hospital by ambulance, but so serious were Mr Stewart’s injuries that he died before admission.
