ENJOYABLE GATHERING
AT MASTERTON CENTRAL SCHOOL. PRIVATE E. C. CODDINGTON HONOURED. There was a happy gathering of parents and pupils of Standard 3 at the Central School, Masterton, on Saturday night when Private E. C. Coddington was guest of honour at a social gathering. Private Coddington was teacher of Standard 3 prior to entering camp for overseas service. Mr V. Heath, on behalf of the parents, thanked Private Coddington for the keen interest he had taken in the children during, and outside of, school hours. Mr Heath said that parents had greatly appreciated several evenings which Private Coddington had arranged for their entertainment. Those present had great pleasure in asking Private Coddington to accept a gift as a small token of appreciation and esteem. Mr Heath, at the same time, extended to him good wishes for his future welfare. Private Coddington suitably returned thanks. For the dancing which was thoroughly enjoyed, Mr G. Brown was M.C, and Mrs Ccrlett pianiste.
