In a brilliant action in the Mediterranean, British naval forces have wiped out two; enemy convoys, also sinking aij Italian destroyer and damaging another. On Sunday morning, an enemy convoy of eight supply ships, escorted by a destroyer, was sighted south of Taranto, and was later joined by two supply ships, escorted by two destroyers. Nine out of the ten ships in the convoy were set on fire and sunk, including an ammunition ship. The tenth was left blazing furiously. One destroyer was sunk and another damaged. No casualties or damage were suffered by the British forces. On its return voyage, the British squadron was attacked unsuccessfully by torpedo-carrying aircraft. Mr. Churchill has cabled congratulations to the fleet.
