AIR MAIL SERVICE

FOR RELATIVES OF WAR PRISONERS.

SPECIAL LIGHT-WEIGHT

LETTER-CARD.

A special light-weight air mail lettercard is about to be introduced for communicating with New Zealand and other British prisoners of war interned abroad. The letter-card will receive air transmission by the Trans-Pacific and Trans-Atlantic air services from New Zealand to Lisbon, Portugal; and it is possible that it will also receive air transmission by the special air mail service for prisoners of war operating between Lisbon and Stuttgart, Germany.

The card has been specially designed to meet the needs of the prisoner-of-war post, the address portion bearing printed instructions to guide senders in correct addressing. The card may be used for communicating with a prisoner of war whose camp address is not known, but in any such case the words “Care Agence Centrale des Prisonniers de Guerre, Geneva,” should be added below the printed form of address.

This special air mail letter-card service is in addition to the existing facilities for sending letters to prisoners of war postage free by surface means or prepaid for transmission by the various air services offering, as indicated in the Prisoner of War leaflet. The sale price of the letter-card to the public is Is 6d. Supplies are to be placed on sale on November 17.
