RECORD FLIGHT
CREDITED TO CATALINA FLYING-BOAT.

On the last stage of a ferrying flight across the Pacific a Catalina flyingboat bought from the United States by the Australian Government' flew 3300 miles non-stop from Canton Island to ■Sydney. This is believed to be a world trans-ocean record for a Catalina aircraft. It is certainly a Pacific non-stop record. The pilot was Captain R. Tapp, of Quantas Empire Airways, and the navigator Was Captain P. G. Taylor.
