THIRD DAY AT FLEMINGTON. HIGH CASTE WINS STAKES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, November 6. The weather was fine and there was a good attendance at Flemington for the third day of the V.R.C. meeting. Isambard finished strongly in the November Hurdles, and repeated Valhalla’s performance last year to win both hurdle races at the meeting. Giant Killer and Glaucus (who is by Iliad from Sweet Charity) ran fair races. Haros, who was placed in his only two previous starts, scored a well-de-served win in the Byron Moore Stakes. He won easily from the hot fancy, Regency, who is raced by Mr W. 'R. Kemball. High Caste, who was last early, narrowly beat Burrabil in the Linlithgow Stakes. Tea Cake was a moderate third. High Caste now has two wins and a dead-heat in this race in the last three years. He is still as game as ever, but is definitely on the decline, as he was hard put to beat Burrabil today. The first half-mile took 504, and the last two furlongs 25|. Spearmain was a bad last at the home turn but finished in amazing fashion in the Carnival Handicap and won in the last stride. Two’s Company ran a great race. Gold Strand also finished well.
Primavera was last early in the race, but came around the field at the turn to win the Oaks Stakes. Wheat Sheal made a game effort and looked dangerous a furlong from home but was outstayed by the winner. Argenter was a surprise third. Saint Warden had a long overdue success in the Veteran Stakes. Sun Belle made a game effort, but was crowded near the post. The pacemaker, Rainbar, was a poor third. Isonomia disappointed. Results:— November Hurdles, 24m.:' Isambard, 10.6 (L.
