Night Pal’s Chances., The Dunedin-owned Night Pal is coming into stronger favour for the' New Zealand Cup, an event which both of his parents won a few years back. There was a decided move to' support the chances of Night Pal yesterday in Wellington. He has the minimum. in the Cup,, but J. W. Jennings is wasting hard to ride him at 61b overweight. '
Cup and Stewards Betting. With the New Zealand Cup only two days away, interest in the big spring double is quickening, and in Wellington yesterday Lambourn was a firm favourite for the Cup, while Enrich was a pronounced favourite for the Stewards’. Taurangi and Rakanui were equal second favourites for the Cup, with Wardress and Night Pilot next in demand. In the Stewards’ Handicap Burra Sahib was slightly less'in demand than Enrich, and Kentucky was third fancy. With the prospects of a firm, dry track, Pay Roll is coming into stronger favour for the Stewards’ Handicap.
