A Lisbon message states that many people have been arrested in Naples and Genoa for expressing resentment against Italian war casualties and the transfer of Italian workers to Germany. With the object of countering mutterings, Germany is taking over control of Italian propaganda. It is reported that Italian generals accuse the Fascist leaders of ruining Italy. Italy’s food position continues to deteriorate. Large quantities of fruit, vegetables and agricultural products are being sent to Germany. The large numbers of German troops in Naples, Genoa and Sardinia are also seriously depleting supplies.
