LABOUR PARTY DANCE
FUNCTION IN MASTERTON LAST NIGHT.
The dance held in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, last night by the Masterton branch of the New Zealand Labour Party, was largely attended. The music was supplied by the Blue River Dance Band. Novelty dances were held. Under the capable supervision of the M.C., Mr A. L. Askew, the proceedings went with a swing. Mr J. Robertson, M.P., and Mrs Robertson were present. Mrs Robertson was presented with a bouquet and Mr Robertson received a buttonhole. Mr Robertson spoke briefly. He mentioned that the day had been spent in celebrating the introduction of an 8-hour day, and thanked those present for their patronage. Mr Robertson also congratulated the ladies’ committee on the excellent supper provided.
