WOMEN’S DIVISION

MEETING AT PAHAUTEA. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the local branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Pahautea Hall on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs Ross presiding over a good attendance. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Welsh and McKay. A presentation was made to Miss •Corlet who is leaving the district. Mrs W. Connell was appointed secretary in place of Miss Corlet. A competition for a ginger bread was won by Mrs Duffy. It was decided to donate the gingerbread to the Anzac Hospital. The best bloom was shown by Mrs Grant with Mrs Duffy second. The hostesses competition was won by Miss Corlet. The hostesses were Mesdames Duffy and Pope. Personal Items. Mrs D. Edwards, Wellington, is spending a few days with her mother, Mrs Tullock. Mr and Mrs S. Brooker and family are visiting Mrs J. Mutter for Labour weekend.
