CARTERTON
PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) v Edward Alan Pedley, an apprentice ' ' attached to the stable of T. R. George at Trentham, collapsed and died at the home of his employer on Thursday night. Pedley had done a certain amount of race riding, and he piloted Kentucky, winner of the Shorts Handicap at the Wellington Spring Meeting on Thursday, when the Vermeer horse ran second at Otaki last Saturday. Mr J. G. Oates, who is an inmate of Croydon Hospital, is improving in health. Mr and Mrs C. C. Callender left today for Paraparaumu, where they will stay over the weekend. St, John Ambulance. At a meeting of members of the Carterton branch of the St. John Ambulance it was decided to hold a shop day under the Power Board verandah early next month in order to provide funds for much-needed equipment. Borough Council. The monthly meeting of the Carterton Borough Council will be held on Tuesday night.
