PADDY’S MARKET
WAIRARAPA COLLEGE NEXT SATURDAY. In order to raise funds for the completion of the much needed cloak rooms at the Assembly Hall, the 53?airarapa College Parents’ Associatiqh is holding a Paddy’s Market on Saturday, November 1. It will be held in the Assembly Hall. To allow patrons to purchase joints in time for dinner, it will commence at 9.30 a.m. The committee urgently appeals to all parents to assist by making donations to the various stalls. Gifts that will be most acceptable are meat, poultry, eggs, cakes, vegetables, preserves, sweets and worked articles. Afternoon tea will be available. Prizes are offered of 2s 6d for the best sponge cake, 7s 6d for the best fruit cake, 5s for the best collection of sweets, and 10s for the best worked apron, the articles to become the property of the Market. Meat and dressed poultry may be left at Messrs. Barber Bros.’ north-end shop, near the Post Office, and other donations may be left at the school during the week or at the Assembly Hall next Saturday.
