RHINELAND BOMBED

MANNHEIM AS CHIEF TARGET FIVE BRITISH BOMBERS LOST. THREE ENEMY MACHINES SHOT DOWN. R.A.F. bombers attacked targets in the Rhineland last night, including the industrial centre of Mannheim, besides the docks at Le Havre, and the harbour at Brest. Five bombers failed to return. Three enemy bombers were shot down in small-scale raids on this country last night. Bombs were dropped at scattered points, mainly in North Wales and the Merseyside. Little damage was caused, but there were some casualties.
