THE LAWN
GIVE IT CAREFUL ATTENTION. Those who have the care of a lawn will find that it profits from a little attention other than mowing at this season of the year. Coarse weeds such as daisy, dandelion, plantains and docks have started to grow and should be uprooted with a garden fork. A dressing of laWn'send will destroy the smaller specimens if applied during settled dry weather. Lawn sand also assists in keepins down clover and other small weeds which lie close to the ground. A week or ten days after the lawn sand has been put on, the lawn should be raked over; this will help to get rid of dead weeds and moss. After this a good rolling will do good. No feature of the garden gives more pleasure than a well-kept, weed-free verdant lawn.
