BONEMEAL

A VALUABLE MANURE. Few fertilisers are of more value than bonemeal. This is partly because it supplies both nitrogen and phosphate and as it releases its nitrogen gradually over a fairly extensive period it is an ideal dressing for seed beds. Two ounces per square yard, forked in a few days before sowing the seed, will go far to ensure the production of sturdy seedlings and further light topdressing (one ounce per square yard) given through the summer will encourage the steady and uninterrupted growth necessary for the production of first-class flowers and vegetables.
