CARTERTON SALE GOOD PRICES RECORDED, A TOTAL CLEARANCE. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report that a good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at their Carterton sale yesterday and was offered to a fair attendance. Prices were good throughout and a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations: — Sheep: Ewes with lambs at foot, 13s 2d all counted; ewe hoggets, to 30s 6d; fat hoggets, 21s 9d, 22s 6d, 23s 6d to 245; prime hoggets, 25s 6d, 26s to 27s 7d; fat wethers, 29s 3d to 30s 6d. Cattle: Jersey heifers on drop, £8 ss, £8 15s, £9 10s to £10; spring heifers, £6 to £7 10s; fat cows, £5 10s to £7 15s; forward cows, £3 17s 6d to £4 16s; store cows, £2 5s to £3 10s; cull cows, 10s to 38s; Jersey steers, £3 to £6 7s 6d; cows and calves, £2 12s 6d to £5 2s 6d; fat heifers, to £5 17s 6d. Pigs: Heavy porkers, £2 14s, £2 15s, £2 17s 6d to £3 2s; porkers, 38s to £2 6s; light porkers, 30s to 365; store pigs, 27s to 295; slips, 20s to 255; weaners (good), 18s 6d to 225; weaners (medium), 16s to 18s; weaners (small), 12s to 15s.
