ABERDEEN ANGUS BULLS
SALE AT DANNEVIRKE. SOME HIGH PRICES RECORDED. At'the Aberdeen Angus cattle breeders’ sale at Dannevirke this week pedigree bulls were sold as follows on account of Mi- J. E. Falloon, Masterton, X 5 of Pine Bank, Messrs Dalgety and Co., Taumarunui, 35gns; Wriggle of Pine Bank, Messrs Dalgety and Co., Taumarunui, 51gns; Walter of Pine Bank, Mr E. C. White, Masterton, 90 gns; Willie of Pine Bank, Messrs Dalgety and Co., Auckland, 45gns. Several animals were purchased on behalf of Eketahuna farmers. Mr F. Arkwright, of Featherston, bought one bull at 17jgns, and Messrs Cooper Bros, one at 80gns.
The top price on Wednesday—4oo guineas—was obtained by Mr D. G. Grant, of Mangatoro, with Embassy of Mangatoro. This bull was sold to Mr H. B. Williams, Gisborne. Its mate in the group, Embassy Ist of Mangatoro, was bought by Mrs T. May, Waipawa, at 360 guineas, while Embassy;sth of Mangatoro realised 200 guineas. This group of three returned Mr Grant 960 guineas.
